The Group forms in Los Angeles
An innovative partnership of high-end commercial photographers have banded together to create The Group, a collective of artists to approach advertising agencies for portfolio showings en masse. “These days it’s harder and harder for individual photographers to secure a book showing at advertising agencies,” says The Group member Anthony Nex. “We’ve banded together a diverse group of photographers in order to efficiently meet with agencies where solo shooters might have more difficulty securing a show. Art producers and creatives have very limited time, so this is a way to meet several artists at once, making the most of their time. The treats and refreshments don’t hurt, either!”
“As a group we are able to book shows at agencies just like an artist representative, but in our case the creatives get to interact directly with the artists versus a representative. The feedback has been fantastic,” adds The Group member Dana Hursey
The Group consists of Dana Hursey, Tracy+David, Nick Nacca, Anthony Nex, Jason Elias, Christopher Malcolm, Nathalie Gordon and Jennifer Davick representing a diverse mix of specialties consisting of lifestyle, food, active, automotive, product/still life, humor/conceptual and others.
Portfolio shows have started in Los Angeles, and The Group will be taking the show on the road, hitting major advertising markets across the US.
